Building the Slime Rancher 2 Website — Bright, Bouncy, and Built to Scale
Slime Rancher 2 isn’t just a sequel — it’s a return to one of the most joyful, visually delightful worlds in indie gaming. So when Monomi Park brought me on to develop the official website, I knew it had to match that same playful energy — while also delivering a clean, structured experience for fans, press, and new players alike.
This was a project that needed to look and feel just as good as it performed. Slime, after all, may be squishy — but websites shouldn’t be.
The Mission
The goals for the Slime Rancher 2 site were as clear as a freshly collected plort:
Introduce the game’s world, features, and characters
Showcase the updated art style and visuals
Provide trailers, media, and store links
Offer press-friendly access to assets
Be as easy to update and maintain as it is fun to explore
It had to be colorful, responsive, and ready to evolve as the game entered early access and continued to grow.
Design Direction
Monomi Park already had a strong visual identity in place — bright colors, round UI elements, bubbly character art. The site design leaned into all of that while keeping the layout clean and accessible.
My job was to ensure that none of that charm got lost in translation. Every motion, transition, and interaction had to feel just as joyful as the game itself.
The Build
I used my trusted stack for performance, flexibility, and long-term scalability:
Nuxt 3 for the frontend — fast and optimized
Storyblok for CMS — so the Monomi Park team could manage content with zero friction
Netlify for deployment — reliable, easy, and lightning-fast
This gave the team complete control over content updates, media additions, and more — with a solid foundation for expansion over time.
Key Features
A vibrant homepage with trailers, screenshots, and platform links
A Game Features section designed to highlight new mechanics and environments
A Media & Press Kit with downloadable assets, key art, and logos
CMS-powered sections for news, updates, and future expansions
Fully responsive design to keep everything looking crisp on every device
Every component was designed to be fun, functional, and easy to expand as the game universe grew.
Why It Was Fun
Building the Slime Rancher 2 site was just pure fun. There’s something refreshing about working on a game that embraces joy, color, and creativity — and being able to reflect that in the web experience was a real treat.
Monomi Park has such a clear, confident visual style, and it was a pleasure to bring that to life on the web in a way that felt seamless and energetic.
Final Thoughts
The Slime Rancher 2 site is proof that function and fun don’t have to be separate. It’s a joyful site for a joyful game — built with performance and long-term growth in mind.

If your game brings good vibes, big ideas, or bouncing blobs to the table, I’d love to help bring that world to the web.
