Building the Mythwright Website: A Modern Home for an Indie Game Publisher
When indie game publisher Mythwright needed a new website to represent their growing portfolio, I was brought on board to handle the build. Their catalogue includes titles like Going Medieval, InnKeep, and War for the Overworld — all games with strong followings and distinct styles. The website needed to reflect that same energy: polished, approachable, and built with future growth in mind.
The Goal
The brief was straightforward but multifaceted. Mythwright wanted a site that:
Communicates what they do as a publisher
Showcases the games they’re involved with
Provides an easy way for press and content creators to get in touch
In other words, something professional, flexible, and easy to manage behind the scenes.
Design by Fully Illustrated
The visual design was handled by Fully Illustrated, led by Mike Heald, who I regularly collaborate with. His designs are always a pleasure to build — visually striking but grounded in usability. For this project, he created a layout that captured the personality of the brand without sacrificing structure or flow.
Tech Stack
For the build, I used a modern Jamstack approach:
Nuxt 3 for the frontend framework
Storyblok as the headless CMS
Netlify for deployment
This setup allowed for strong performance, easy content management, and the flexibility to scale the site as Mythwright grows.
Key Features
Some of the main components I built included:
A Featured Games section with individual game pages, all managed through Storyblok
A News section to share updates and announcements
A Content Creator Contact Form, which I built using a custom form-builder component in the CMS
The form system was a particularly interesting challenge — it allows Mythwright to build and edit forms directly in the CMS, with dynamic field rendering on the frontend. It was a rewarding piece of the puzzle that kept things flexible and future-proof.
Reflections
This was one of those projects where everything came together smoothly — great client, clear direction, and a design that translated well into code. The final result is a site that’s easy to manage, visually compelling, and built to evolve alongside Mythwright’s journey as a publisher.
