Building the Ereban: Shadow Legacy Website — Sleek, Stealthy, and Ready to Strike
Ereban: Shadow Legacy stood out immediately. A sleek sci-fi stealth platformer with striking visuals and an intriguing protagonist? I was in. So when the opportunity came up to build the official website, I knew it was going to be a fun challenge — one that would let me blend clean code with a moody, atmospheric aesthetic that matched the game’s tone.
This project was all about building anticipation. Ereban was a new IP, with a unique look and gameplay style, and the website had to serve as the first real impression for a lot of players.
The Mission
The goals for the site were sharp and focused:
Set the tone for the world of Ereban — stealthy, mysterious, and futuristic
Highlight the game’s core mechanics and standout visuals
Provide access to trailers, store links, and press materials
Be built for future updates as the game moved toward launch
Deliver all of it in a fast, responsive, and stylish package
The design and development both had to feel like extensions of the game itself — controlled, intentional, and ready to strike.
Visual Direction & Design
Design for this project came from Mike Heald at Fully Illustrated, and as always, it hit the mark. The visuals leaned into dark palettes, glowing accents, and clean futuristic typography — a perfect complement to the game’s stealth-action vibe.
The design made it clear from the jump: this wasn’t another generic action game. Ereban had its own identity — and our job was to present it clearly and confidently.
The Stack
The site was built with my standard stack for performance and flexibility:
Nuxt 3 — ideal for smooth navigation and strong SEO
Storyblok — so the dev and marketing teams could control content easily
Netlify — reliable deployment and performance, even during traffic surges
This setup gave the client a future-proof foundation — easy to update as trailers dropped, features evolved, or release info changed.
Key Features
A visually immersive homepage with layered artwork, trailers, and key calls to action
A CMS-driven Game Overview with structured content that could evolve over time
A press-friendly Media Kit section with downloadable assets and platform info
Responsive layouts that preserved the cinematic feel across devices
Subtle animations and scroll effects that mirrored the game’s stealthy, fluid movement
Every component was designed to support modular updates, so as the game neared launch, the team could scale the site easily without needing another full dev cycle.
Why It Stood Out
Ereban: Shadow Legacy was one of those projects where the mood of the game really stuck with me. It’s rare to work on something with such a clear visual and mechanical identity, and I loved the challenge of reflecting that in the web experience.
There’s a precision to stealth games, and I took the same approach to the site — every element had to be purposeful and well-executed.
Final Thoughts
This was a project that let me stretch creatively while still delivering a smooth, modular build for a growing new IP. Ereban is shaping up to be something special, and I’m proud to have helped set the tone for its arrival.
